Baking

Ok, its not sewing, but its creative. I baked two things yesterday. 1) A chocolate brownie cake. Doesn't it look delicious? Unfortunately it tastes gross! It was too crunchy on the outside and not cooked properly in the middle. My oven really doesn't like baking cakes. What a waste of organic chocolate. 2) A kind of spur of the moment banana loaf. It was supposed to be a banana and chocolate chip loaf, but I'd used all the chocolate chips in the brownie cake. E chopped up some white chocolate and we used that instead. At least it cooked properly. On the sewing front, I had some mini piping arrive from Australia just recently. Some pink to finish off a dress for E and some light blue satin mini piping for a Christmas outfit for R. I also bought the cream coloured fabric for R's outfit, but I don't really like it. It feels all rough and itchy. Might get a chance to start it on Wednesday. I've also been looking at some German patterns. I might buy one to mak

Yay! I sewed

Yes, can't believe I actually managed to finish something. Baby was asleep, so I took the chance to clean my overlocker and re-thread it. It went very well for a change. Usually all the threads get all tangled or it doesn't thread right. He was still asleep so, I thought I'd get on with actually sewing something. I intended to use white for the backing, since it wouldn't be seen, but I had none left. For some reason I thought I had loads. If I had more time I'd have done the edges in a matching colour of thread, but since I was in a hurry I just used white. I was going to actually quilt the wadding to the flannel, but, again that w
I've decided to start a new sewing blog, although I doubt I'll be updating it very often. We have a new baby. He was 5 weeks old yesterday. I barely have time to eat or have a shower, nevermind doing any sewing! I still have lots of ideas for future projects, so I'll note them down here.
