Wow...

I haven't posted here for months. I haven't been doing any sewing really. R is so hard to get off to sleep these days. It takes me till almost 10 to get him properly asleep. My sewing machine is in the same room as him, so I don't dare to sew in case it wakes him up... Apart from that I just haven't felt motivated or inspired to sew. I started off the year with such good intentions too! I have been busy buying on fabric co-ops though. I got some money for my birthday and spent it (and more!) on fabric. I've ordered quite a few new patterns and a pattern book, about 15 yards of different knits (!) some woven fabric, some print PUL and some pre-cut patchwork fabric. Some of it is ready and I'm just waiting to hear how much it'll be for postage (an eye watering amount probably, with all that fabric). Some of it is going to be custom milled, so it'll be an age for that to be ready. One thing I have done recently is cut out some PUL to make a new s...

Diaper Shower Part 2.

My pictures aren't great here because it was night time and I had the light on. The colours didn't come out very well. So, this is for another Diaper Shower. It's off to Australia this time:-) Its my 1st time using the Little Comet Tails patterns. I made a pair of Crecent Moon yoga pants - the picture doesn't give you an idea how tiny they really are, there is an xs Little Starters nappy and an xs Little Starters cover. The yoga pants were fine till i decided to hem them with a decorative stitch. Now it looks like someone has just punched 100s of holes in the hem instead. The picture doesn't show how crappy it really is. I made these with some PRR knit that I've had for about 6 years! I used co-ordinating ribbing on the top, cutting it slightly smaller since the ribbing is very stretchy. Look at the little gussets on the cover! I had to unpick lots of FOE here because I didn't stretch it around the leg openings. Really, it wouldn't have killed me t...

More Nappies

This is the baby gift I made all finished and ready to go... I really hate uploading pictures with Blogger. That is NOT where I wanted that picture to go!!! Well, never mind..... This week i have been working on some newborn nappies. They need some snaps. Applying snaps really hurts my shoulder and arm. Its hard work! I'm running low on a lot of snap colours too, so I had to use a combination of white and off-white on the nappies. I have some money for my birthday and I think i might buy a new set of dies, for size 20 snaps - slightly larger than the ones I have. And some new snaps. Anyway, this is what I've made: x4 Very Baby newborn nappies, made from hemp jersey x4 Mini nappies, made with a modified version of the Very Baby pattern x2 Covers made by modifying the Very Baby pattern - these are for the mini nappies to snap into. Ugh!!! Blogger and pictures is so annoying!!! These are the two covers. Still need to add snaps to them. I haven't ...
